چکیده
Aims: The present study aimed to evaluate anti-diabetic properties of AgNPs/chitosan/ascorbic acid nanocomposites (Ag-NCs) in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Main methods: Eighteen male Wistar albino rats were divided into three main groups (6 rats/group); control, and Ag-NCs groups. Control group: after a single dose citrate buffer (0.1 mol/l, i.p), the orally received 1 ml distilled water daily for four weeks. model was induced by streptozotocin (60 mg/kg, i.p) type 1diabetes. Diabetic treated with (0.25mg/Kg body weight) Key findings: nanocomposite group showed reduction concentrations glucose, NO, MDA, creatinine, urea uric acid. At same time, it appeared general increase insulin, CAT, SOD activities GSH concentration. histopathological investigation illustrated clear improvement renal architecture. Significance: suggested mechanism action decreasing nephropathy includes two pathways; hypoglycemic activity antioxidant role

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) also named diabetic kidney disease (DN) is one of the leading causes of mortality in people with diabetes. The aim of this review is to update the medical literature, the theories behind its early natural history, the pathways of its pathogenesis, its diagnosis and treatment. Poor glycemic control, hyperlipidemia, smoking, oxidative stress, accumulation of advanced gly...
متن کاملMesenchymal stem cells ameliorate podocyte injury and proteinuria in a type 1 diabetic nephropathy rat model.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) attenuate albuminuria and preserve normal renal histology in diabetic mice. However, the effects of MSC on glomerular podocyte injury remain uncertain. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of MSC on podocyte injury in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Thirty days after diabetes induction by STZ injection (65 mg/kg, intraperitoneally) in Spragu...
متن کاملUrinary Liver-Type Fatty Acid–Binding Protein and Progression of Diabetic Nephropathy in Type 1 Diabetes
OBJECTIVE Diabetic nephropathy (DN) has mainly been considered a glomerular disease, although tubular dysfunction may also play a role. This study assessed the predictive value for progression of a tubular marker, urinary liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP), at all stages of DN. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS At baseline, 1,549 patients with type 1 diabetes had an albumin excretion ra...
متن کاملNephrinuria in diabetic nephropathy of type 1 diabetes.
Diabetic nephropathy is the leading cause of end-stage renal disease. Because early diagnosis and treatment may prevent the complication, new tools for an early detection are needed. One of the key components of the glomerular filtration slit spanning between neighboring podocytes is nephrin. Its expression is altered in experimental models of diabetes and also in various human proteinuric dise...
متن کاملSmoking and progression of diabetic nephropathy in type 1 diabetes.
OBJECTIVE Cigarette smoking contributes to development of diabetic nephropathy. However, long-term studies on the effect of smoking on decline in kidney function in diabetic nephropathy are lacking. We assessed the impact of smoking on progression of diabetic nephropathy in type 1 diabetic patients enrolled in a prospective observational cohort study started in 1983. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHO...
